Windows that keep heat and cold out
Single glazing and old frames let the heat in during summer and let warmth escape in winter. During the inspection we also look at your windows and frames, so the insulation of the roof, walls and floor is not undone by a weak spot.
The window is often the weakest spot
Older homes on the coast often have single glazing or basic aluminium frames. Glass and metal conduct heat well: in summer the window radiates heat indoors, in winter the room cools down next to it. On top of that there are draughts around old joints.
Once you insulate the roof, walls or floor, the window becomes relatively even more important. That is why we include windows and frames in the inspection and advise on the approach that works best for your home: new glazing in the existing frame or a new frame.
Cooler in summer
Less solar heat through the glass, especially on the south and west side of the house.
Warmer in winter
Less heat loss and no more cold zone by the window.
Fewer draughts and less noise
Well-fitted frames close gaps and reduce noise from outside.
Less condensation
